This October was the hottest October in Spain since records started in 1961, according to the national weather agency AEMET. Authorities in Catalonia have imposed water restrictions as parts of the region received less than half of the rainfall they usually get. The restrictions mean that farmers have to use 25 percent less water for crops and 10 percent less for livestock.
