Japanese-developed lunar lander
People celebrate in Tokyo on Dec. 11, 2022, as ispace Inc.'s self-developed lunar lander is successfully detached from a SpaceX rocket after its launch from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station earlier in the day.
The Tokyo-based space technology startup would be the first private company in the world to reach the Moon if the lander arrives as scheduled on the Moon around late April next year.
