Top hills of Happo-One piste

The photo shows the top hills of the Happo-One piste in the ski resort village of Hakuba, Nagano Prefecture, the site of the men's downhill course in the Nagano Winter Olympics next February. Olympic organizers gave the green light Dec. 1 to raising the starting point of the course from 1,680 to 1,765 meters above sea level.

                      HAKUBA, Japan - Veteran jumper Masahiko Harada wins his fifth title at the Nordic ski jumping national championships in Hakuba village, Nagano Prefecture, on Jan. 29. The 36-year-old Harada, a member of the gold-winning Japanese jumping team at the Nagano Winter Olympics in 1998, recorded jumps of 91.5 meters in both his first and second attempts at the K-90 hill.
