Cambodian opposition rallies against Hun Sen
About 20,000 Cambodian opposition supporters rally against national leader Hun Sen in Phnom Penh on Aug. 23, in the biggest demonstration since last month's general election. Hun Sen is seeking support of the royalist FUNCINPEC party of Prince Norodom Ranariddh to get the two-thirds majority he needs to form a government. FUNCINPEC and the Sam Rainsy Party, main organizers of the rally, have filed more than 800 complaints to the National Election Committee alleging irregularities in polling and vote counting. The committee has dismissed the complaints as ''groundless.''
