Thousands bid farewell to Kurosawa
Mourners pay their respects at a ceremony attended by thousands in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Sept. 13 to bid farewell to Japan's most revered movie director, Akira Kurosawa, who died Sept. 6 at age 88. Attendees offered flowers at the altar where a photograph of Kurosawa stood together with four awards that he won for his accomplishments. Kurosawa wears a cap and sunglasses in the portrait, which was taken while he directed.
