Konishiki quits sumo group

Former ozeki Konishiki touches his tie as he leaves a Tokyo hotel room Monday evening Sept. 28. Konishiki, whose name is Yasokichi Shiota in his adopted country, said he resigned from the Japan Sumo Association (JSA) because he needs more time to devote himself to volunteers activities as a ''bridge'' between Hawaii and Japan.
