Thai prime minister dissolves parliament, snap election to be held

BANGKOK, Thailand - Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra (in file photo) said on Feb. 24 that he will formally announce the dissolution of parliament later in the day, paving the way for a general election to be held within two months.
