World's longest suspension bridge to mark 1st year

The 3,911-meter-long Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the world's longest suspension bridge, between Awaji Island and Kobe, will mark its 1st anniversary April 5. To celebrate, a company running the bridge has invited tourists to climb its 300-meter-high main tower.

KOBE, Japan - The world's largest airship Zeppelin NT awaits to be unloaded at Port Island in Kobe, western Japan, on Jan. 12. The 75-meter-long airship, owned by Nippon Airship Corp., will fly over Japan to publicize three major events: the 2005 World Exposition in Aichi Prefecture, the Visit Japan Campaign and Deutschland in Japan 2005/2006.
