Osaka struggles for managing 70 bil. yen confab center
The Osaka International Convention Center, which cost 70 billion yen to build, is struggling to invite conferences after losing a bid to host the July 2000 summit of the Group of Eight (G-8) nations to Okinawa. The Osaka prefectural government had already reduced reservation for conventions at the center between May and July next year in hopes of winning the bid for the summit venue.
