Cooling-water leakage stops Fukui nuclear reactor

FUKUI, Japan - Workers at the No. 2 reactor in the Tsuruga nuclear power plant, operated by Japan Atomic Power Co. in Fukui Prefecture, manually shut down the reactor July 12 after a massive loss of cooling water caused the temperature to rise in a containment building. Some 60 tons of cooling water was believed to have leaked by noon.
