Children offer paper cranes to Hiroshima's monument
HIROSHIMA, Japan - School children lay flowers and paper cranes at a memorial monument in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on Aug. 4. Hiroshima marks the 54th anniversary of the 1945 atomic bombing on Aug. 6. Paper cranes, called ''orizuru'' in Japanese, symbolize peace, hope and health.
