Sanyo develops world's thinnest cellular phone

OSAKA, Japan - Sanyo Electric Co. has developed what it claims is the world's thinnest and lightest cellular phone, using code division multiple access (CDMA) technology. The Osaka-based consumer electronics maker will put the unit, 9.9 millimeters thick and weighing 57 grams, on sale in fall 2000.
