Unique dome with retractable roof unveiled in Sapporo

SAPPORO, Japan - A unique dome with a retractable glass roof is unveiled in Sapporo's Chuo Ward on Nov. 4. The three photos show how the roof's triangular panels open and shut. The roof is composed of 24 panels of triangulate glass, with each panel measuring 10 meters in length. The dome will be the centerpiece of Sapporo Television's event park, called Spica, where concerts and other events will be held. Spica will open next April.
