Nikkei falls below 19,000 after strong start
TOKYO, Japan - The key 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, whose movements are shown on the signboard, falls below 19,000 in late morning trading April 18 after getting off to a strong start on a rebound on Wall Street. The Nikkei, a 1,426.04-point loser the previous day, stood at 18,869.72 at 10:40 a.m., down 138.92 points.
