Kobe completes complex for quake-affected manufacturers
KOBE, Japan - The city of Kobe in western Japan holds a ceremony May 17 to mark the completion of a factory complex for manufacturers hit by the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake that devastated the area and killed more than 6,400 people. The complex of four five-story buildings is to house local firms such as shoemakers who lost their own factories in the Jan. 17, 1995 quake.
