Stage actor Takizawa dies at 93

TOKYO, Japan - Acclaimed stage actor Osamu Takizawa died of pneumonia at a Tokyo hospital on June 22, hospital sources said June 23. He was 93. After joining ''Tsukiji Shogekijo'' (Tsukiji Mini Theater) in 1924, Takizawa played many leading roles in modern European plays. This undated file photo shows Takizawa playing the role of painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) in ''Honoo-no-Hito'' (Man of Flame).
