Construction of new airport begins off Aichi Pref.
NAGOYA, Japan - Workers start dropping stones into the sea from a ship Aug. 1, kicking off construction work on a new international airport off Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture. The projected Central Japan International Airport is slated to open by March 2005, in time for the start of the 185-day World Exposition to be held in the prefecture.
