Children's books selling briskly in U.S.: report
NEW YORK, United States - Children's books have been selling briskly over the past year in the United States, thanks to the blockbuster ''Harry Potter'' series and other bestsellers such as ''Pokemon'' and ''Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace,'' according to a new study. Sales of children's books jumped by more than 15% last year, to $1.72 billion, according to ''Book Industry Trends 2000,'' an annual survey commissioned by the Book Industry Study Group Inc.
