Chinese IOC member explains decision to cut athletes
SYDNEY, Australia - He Zhenliang, a Chinese member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), talks to reporters Sept. 6 on arrival at Sydney's international airport. Asked about China's decision to cut 40 members from its Olympic team, he said countries frequently drop athletes from their rosters for various reasons. Tests reportedly showed some of the Chinese athletes who were dropped had shown signs of doping.
