Hundreds of thousands pack Tokyo streets for samba festival
TOKYO, Japan - More than 3,500 dancers in 36 teams put on a lively samba show Sept. 9 in the streets of Tokyo's Asakusa district, sharing a cheerful Latin mood with more than 495,000 onlookers. A group of dancers in kabuki outfits and a Brazilian team in bikinis were followed by people in colorful and elaborately designed costumes as they paraded along a 1-kilometer course to the Sensoji Temple in the center of Asakusa.
