Experts estimate casualties from Taiwan's nuclear plant
TAIPEI, Taiwan - Photo shows Taiwan's fourth nuclear power plant under review over its construction. Japanese researchers, commissioned by Taiwan's local opponents of the plant to project the possible loss of life in the event of a major accident, warned Sept. 28 that a Chernobyl-like accident at the plant would immediately kill more than 8,700 people in northern Taiwan.
