Sasaki sets rookie record for saves in season
ANAHEIM, United States - File photo of Seattle Mariners reliever Kazuhiro Sasaki, formerly of the Yokohama BayStars, who picked up his 37th save Oct. 1 against the Anaheim Angels to set the major league record for a saves in a season by a rookie. Sasaki pitched 1-2/3 innings as the Mariners won 5-2 and clinched the wild card berth in the American League playoffs.
