Sakai swims to gold at Sydney Paralympics
SYDNEY, Australia - Japanese swimmer Yoshikazu Sakai punches the air after winning the gold medal in the S12 men's 100-meter backstroke final for visually impaired athletes at Sydney International Aquatic Center on Oct. 27 at the 2000 Paralympic Games. The 18-year-old from Hyogo Prefecture won in a time of 1 minute, 03.98 seconds to set a world record.
