Prime Minister Mori apologizes for scandal
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, speaking at a convention of his Liberal Democratic Party's coalition partner, the New Komeito party, in Tokyo on Nov. 4, apologizes for scandals involving Chief Cabinet Secretary Hidenao Nakagawa. Nakagawa, Mori's closest aide, resigned Oct. 27 after coming under heavy fire over allegations that he had an affair with a woman in her 20s and links with a right-wing extremist.
