Kishida's Reiko portrait auctioned for record 360 mil. yen
TOKYO, Japan - Two men hold the late Japanese painter Ryusei Kishida's famed portrait of his 6-year-old daughter Reiko wearing a wool shawl, auctioned Dec. 2 for 360 million yen, the highest successful bid in any auction in Japan. Toshio Nakamoto, a 71-year-old president of a major plywood manufacturer, bought the portrait at a Tokyo hotel.
