Mori vows last-minute efforts to advance peace pact talks
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori speaks at a news conference after presiding over the first session of his reshuffled cabinet late on the evening of Dec. 5. Mori said his administration will do its utmost to bring about progress in talks on a peace treaty with Russia by the end of the year, the deadline set in a 1997 agreement.
