Int'l conference on infectious diseases opens in Okinawa

NAHA, Japan - A two-day international conference to discuss tackling the spread of infectious diseases opens Dec. 7 in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture, with more than 100 people taking part. The meeting is a follow-up to the Group of Eight (G-8) nations' agreement at their July summit in Okinawa to tackle infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria.
