G-8 begins Miyazaki confab on drug crime
MIYAZAKI, Japan - Officials and experts from the Group of Eight (G-8) major countries kicked off a conference Dec. 13 in Miyazaki, southwestern Japan, to reinforce cooperation in cracking down on crimes related to illegal drugs such as stimulants and heroin. Representatives from the U.N. International Drug Control Program also attended the meeting, which is to follow up on July's G-8 summit in Okinawa.
