Shimizu powers to win in speed skating World Cup meet

NAGANO, Japan - Japan's Hiroyasu Shimizu powers to victory in the men's 500 meters at the M-Wave indoor ice arena in Nagano on Dec. 16, winning the speed skating World Cup event in 35.22 seconds. Shimizu won the Olympic gold medal in the same event at the same venue at the 1998 Nagano Winter Games.
