IT revolution may help asthma patients
TOKYO, Japan - Shigeo Kikuchi, a 51-year-old Tokyo taxi driver, breathes into a new device which assesses asthma patients' condition by measuring the peak flow of their breath speed. The U.S.-made equipment transmits a numeric representation of the patient's breathing rate to doctors via telephone lines, which immediately shows if the patient is in distress.
