Spent nuclear fuel arrives in Rokkasho, Aomori Pref
ROKKASHO, Japan - Trailers carrying containers of spent nuclear fuel cross the national highway Jan. 24 on their way to a reprocessing plant under construction in the village of Rokkasho, Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan. The 4,913-ton Rokuei Maru, carrying some 11 tons of spent nuclear fuel, arrived at a port in the village earlier in the day.
