Mori touches on scandals in policy speech
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori makes a policy speech to the Diet in Tokyo on Jan. 31 at the beginning of the 150-day ordinary session of parliament. Mori pledged to restore public trust in politics following allegations that members of his ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) took money from a scandal-ridden foundation and that a diplomat embezzled secret government funds.
