Matsushita launches R&D firm in China

BEIJING, China - Yoichi Morishita, chairman of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., tells reporters in Beijing on Feb. 7 that the company has established a research and development company in Beijing to develop advanced digital technologies for the Chinese market, such as next-generation mobile phones and digital televisions. The new company, Matsushita Research & Development (China) Co. (CMRD), will begin operating in May.
