Seagaia resort group files for bankruptcy protection
MIYAZAKI, Japan - A group of women visits Ocean Dome, part of the Seagaia resort complex in Miyazaki Prefecture, on Feb. 19. The complex is operated by the semipublic Phoenix Resort Ltd. which along with two Seagaia group firms filed for bankruptcy protection with the Miyazaki District Court the same day. A Seagaia group spokesman said the three companies' liabilities are estimated at 326.1 billion yen, making it the largest failure for a semipublic entity.
