Horie to make solo voyage to U.S. 40 years after 1st trip
TOKYO, Japan - Holding a miniature model of his new yacht, Japanese sailor Kenichi Horie tells a news conference Feb. 21 he will attempt another solo voyage to the United States by yacht beginning in May 2002, 40 years after he first successfully sailed across the Pacific. Horie, 62, said he will dedicate his trip to the late San Francisco Mayor George Christopher, who allowed him to enter the U.S. upon arrival in San Francisco in 1962.
