Sub's sonar caught Ehime Maru's noise at least 3 times
HONOLULU, United States - The U.S. nuclear-powered submarine Greeneville, docked for checkups Feb. 21, bears scars on its port-side hull. The Greeneville's sonar detected noise from the Japanese fisheries training ship Ehime Maru at least three times before it surfaced underneath it Feb. 9, sources close to the case told Kyodo News on Feb. 21.
