U.S. envoy expresses commitment to raising Ehime Maru
TOKYO, Japan - Special U.S. envoy Adm. William Fallon (R) attends a meeting with Japanese ministers (L) at the prime minister's official residence in Tokyo on Feb. 28 to brief them on the Feb. 9 sub-ship collision off Hawaii. Fallon, the No. 2 man in the U.S. Navy, said the United States is politically committed to recovering the Ehime Maru, a Japanese high school training ship that sank after being struck by the U.S. submarine Greeneville.
