2 war-displaced Japanese from China meet possible relatives
TOKYO, Japan - Yu Hongjun, one of 12 war-displaced Japanese from China staying in Japan until March 14 to look for relatives, meets reporters in Tokyo on March 5 after meeting a man from Hokkaido believed to be his uncle. The group is on a government-financed program that began in 1981 to enable visits by Japanese separated from their families in the confusion at the end of World War II. Many of the displaced were raised by Chinese foster parents.
