Nintendo to market electronic Pokemon card in fall

TOKYO, Japan - Video game giant Nintendo Co. said March 7 it will launch new Game Boy Advance portable console (in handout photo) in Japan on March 21, in the United States on June 11, in Europe and Australia at about the same time, and in other overseas markets by the end of June. The firm said it will market an electronic Pokemon card in the fall which will allow gamers to play with Pokemon animated characters using Game Boy Advance.

OSAKA, Japan - Nintendo Co. said Aug. 18 it will launch tiny game gadget ''Game Boy micro'' (shown in handout photo) in Japan and overseas this fall targeting customers in their 20s to 40s. The company expects global sales of 4 million units by next March after starting the sales on Sept. 13 in Japan, on Sept. 19 in the United States and on Nov. 4 in European countries.

3 firms to sell new air tent for SARS treatment

TOKYO, Japan - Trading house Itochu Corp., machinery maker Ebara Jitsugyo Co. and chemicals firm Achilles Corp. said June 17 they will market a negative-pressure air tent (in handout photo) that can be used as isolation chambers for treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). JVC to release 1st HD consumer digital video camera

TOKYO, Japan - Victor Co. of Japan Ltd. (JVC) said Jan. 22 it will release in Japan in early March the world's first consumer digital video camera (in photo) to record and play back digital high-definition images. Nintendo unveils GameCube console

TOKYO, Japan - Visitors to a press preview try to play with a new GameCube video game console showcased by Nintendo Co. in Tokyo on Aug. 23. The GameCube, which was jointly developed by Nintendo and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., can be used to access the Internet and can hook up with Nintendo's handheld Game Boy Advance console, among other features. It will be released in Sept. in Japan in a head-to-head battle with similar offerings by Sony Corp. and U.S. computer software giant Microsoft Corp.

OSAKA, Japan - Nintendo Co. said July 13 it will launch a new game for its hand-held Game Boy Advance console (shown in photo) July 21 that can be played by up to four people. Mario Kart Advance, a version of the popular Mario Kart game for the console, is meant to stimulate sales of Game Boy Advance, launched in March, by introducing it at the beginning of summer recess for schoolchildren, Nintendo officials said.

GM, Suzuki to produce new vehicle in fall

(GM) of the United States will start producing this fall at a Japanese plant of Suzuki Motor Corp. for the Asia Pacific market.
