Tokyo Mutual fails with liabilities of 980 bil. yen
TOKYO, Japan - Kenichi Nakamura, president of Tokyo Mutual Life, bows at a news conference at the head office of the Bank of Japan in Tokyo on March 23. The midsize life insurer filed for court protection from creditors with the Tokyo District Court earlier in the day under fast-track legislation aimed at dealing with troubled financial institutions with total liabilities of 980.2 billion yen.
