Powerful earthquake hits western Japan
HIROSHIMA, Japan - The liquefaction phenomenon is observed at a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. plant in Hiroshima after a powerful earthquake jolted a wide area of western Japan on March 24. Two women were killed and at least 90 people injured, two of them seriously, in the earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale, which struck at 3:28 p.m.
