Estrada finds solace among impoverished supporters
MANILA, Philippines - Ousted Philippine President Joseph Estrada, marking his 64th birthday under threat of arrest for plunder, basks in the cheers of about 3,000 supporters in a slum community beside a garbage dump on April 19 in Payatas, Quezon City. Thousands welcomed the deposed president with streamers and posters wishing him a happy birthday as he toured depressed communities around metropolitan Manila.
