Composer Dan dies at 77 in China
BEIJING, China - Japanese composer Ikuma Dan (file photo) died of heart failure May 17 at a hospital in Suzhou, China. He was 77. Dan won fame in 1952 with his opera, ''Yuzuru,'' based on the Japanese folk tale ''The Grateful Crane.''
