Taiwan president arrives in New York for 3-day 'transit' visit

NEW YORK, United States - Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian waves as he arrives in New York on May 21 for a three-day ''transit'' visit en route to Latin America. Chen was the first Taiwan leader to visit New York City since Washington switched diplomatic recognition to Beijing in 1979.
