Baker wants open Japan markets
WASHINGTON, United States - U.S. Ambassador-designate to Japan Howard Baker and his wife appear at a Senate hearing May 23 on his nomination, which was endorsed by the Senate in a vote later in the day. Baker told the hearing the United States will further pry open the Japanese market and encourage Japan's economic growth while seeking to deepen security dialogue for peace and security in Asia.
