Farm minister noncommittal on resuming Isahaya reclamation
ISAHAYA, Japan - Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Tsutomu Takebe (L), along with Nagasaki Gov. Genjiro Kaneko (R), on May 26 inspects the site in Isahaya Bay, Nagasaki Prefecture, where reclamation work has been suspended since late February on fishermen's protests. After the inspection, the farm minister declined to respond a demand by local officials on the resumption of the controversial land reclamation project.
