JAL to introduce equipment to save heart patients
TOKYO, Japan - An official of Japan Airlines shows off automated external defibrillators (AED), which use electric shocks to normalize the heart functions of patients with an irregular heartbeat. Japan will equip planes with AED to provide emergency care to passengers who suffer heart attacks on flights, beginning this fall with long-distance international routes.
