300 march in Tokyo demanding Japan stick to Kyoto pact

TOKYO, Japan - About 300 people march through crowded streets of Shibuya and Harajuku in downtown Tokyo on June 9 in a demonstration urging the Japanese government to stick to the floundering 1997 Kyoto Protocol on curbing global warming. The Stop Global Warming! Family Parade organized by 13 mostly environmental groups, called on the Diet and the government to ratify and implement the Kyoto pact even without U.S. participation.
