Foreign Ministry spent 30 mil. yen on wine in 3 yrs
TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows the copy of an invoice sent to the Foreign Ministry by a Tokyo trading company. According to documents revealed June 14, the ministry purchased a total of 4,427 bottles of high-quality wine worth about 30 million yen in the three years from fiscal 1997 for the purpose of entertaining foreign guests. The most expensive wine, from France, cost roughly 66,000 yen per bottle.
