Ginowan city assembly in Okinawa calls for SOFA revision

NAHA, Japan - Members of the city assembly of Ginowan in Okinawa Prefecture debate a resolution on July 10 calling for a drastic revision to a Japan-U.S. pact governing the management and operation of U.S. forces in Japan. The assembly unanimously adopted the resolution, which was submitted in the wake of the alleged June 29 rape of an Okinawa woman by a U.S. serviceman.
